BARRIE, Ont. - Police said Wednesday they believe they have found the body of a 15-year-old boy who went missing after arguing with his parents on Thanksgiving over his obsession with a video game.

Hunters in an area northeast of Barrie found a body Wednesday morning "pretty well believed" to be that of Brandon Crisp, said Barrie police Sgt. Dave Goodbrand.

"At this point we believe it to be Brandon, and we're still obviously in the early stages of our investigation," Goodbrand said.

"It's not confirmed because nothing's confirmed until we have pathology, but we believe it to be Brandon."

Investigators have been in touch with the teenager's parents, Goodbrand said.

"They're obviously distraught by the information," he said.

The teen was last seen Oct. 13 after he ran away from home after his parents took away his Xbox video game system because of his obsession with the game "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare."

The boy was sighted twice the day he disappeared, and his bicycle was found Oct. 20.

A massive aerial, marine and ground search effort began Oct. 19 in the Shanty Bay area, near where the body was found Wednesday.

But no trace of the boy was found at the time.

There was no answer at the Crisp family home early Wednesday afternoon.
