I found out by accident last evening that she was having "not chest pains." She said it felt like a stretching in her chest...right above her heart
but she refused to refer to it as chest pains. We convinced her to go to the ER and they did an EKG and blood work. The labs came back normal and her EKG had
some abnormalities on it but they were consistent with past EKGs so they were probably from the massive heart attack she had in March. The ER doc wanted to
admit her anyway so she could see her cardiologist today.
He wanted her to have a stress test before he decided whether or not to send her home. Based on the results of that they think it's likely she had a mild heart attack. They're going to do another cath on her tomorrow. That should tell them for sure if she did or not. And they'll probably be putting more stents in.
She just turned 50 in July. My grandmother died when she was 58 and with my mom's health and her refusal to take care of herself I don't think she'll even make it that long. I'm so scared I'm going to lose her.
