My daughter just got home from her first high school swim practice of the year. It's her final year and she's the third best swimmer on the team.
She's part of record breaking relays and whatnot....so yeah, one of the best on the team. There were a couple other girls from her class who made some
comment about a freshman being the only person dumber than my daughter. Then they made a comment about their lane being the "AP" lane. My daughter
isn't a brain who is applying to Harvard like those two girls, but she's not stupid. She can be flaky and a bit clumsy out of water, but she's not
dumb. Little brats.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that the two girls are not the two who swim better than my daughter. They're not even close. My daughter is taking an AP class
too but it's AP Art.

She's a senior. Just one more year of dealing with their bullshit.
But yes, I agree that teenage girls can be ruthless. |

Yeah, they sound like brats, but as a mother, being all, "Plus they aren't even close to being as good as my daughterrr!!!!!!" seems a bit
unnecessary. No need to take pot shots at some teenage girls.

High school can be very cruel for some. I hope your daughter wasn't too affected by those two idiots, grades do not equal level of intelligence, I know a
lot of people who are very intelligent but didn't do very well in school, some just don't like the way classes are taught.
I bet she will have the last laugh when they get their rejection letter from Harvard

I was just trying to make it clear that these aren't the two girls she usually swims with in her lane and stuff. She swims in a totally different lane
during practice and has a different coach.

Then say that instead of, "They aren't even close to swimming better than my daughter." There's no correlations between those two things at
all.

Wait a minute...your daughter tells you stuff like this? Or did you witness this all yourself?

I didn't realize they offered AP art. What does one do in that class?

You do sound catty, but I think that is natural when people are hurting your child. Just make sure the cattiness stays here and don't be one of
"those" moms who attacks children in public or to their parents or something

FireBirdGoddess wrote:Sure, she tells me these things. She comes in the door all ticked and just starts venting and then she went to take her shower and get ready for work. And Hollie, it's not even worth responding to that person. I didn't realize they offered AP art. What does one do in that class? Yeah, there's an AP art class. They put together a full portfolio of all different media....painting, drawing, charcoal, clay, etc. She submits the portfolio for review (via slides and stuff) and can get credit for college. Her major in college requires a college level art class so this will give her those credits. |
