They might actually be shooting an episode of The Pickup Artist and you might end up in their season 2 trailer which has now been taken down from the site or
whatever.

I am about ready to stab somebody. I read the waiver line by line and it said nothing about this show. I should have known better but this is ridiculous.
Basically we're in this grocery store (my roommate and I) and this nerdy guy tries to hit on my roommate. She has a boyfriend (so do I) and she doesn't like giving out her number so she asked if I would give the guy MY number thinking we could just ignore him when he calls. I'm just mad because I don't want to be like... degraded on this show, which I probably will be. |

Why do you think you'll be degraded? That's so fucked up though. |

That sounds dumb though, the thing I hated about that show it just reinforces all of the dumb things that men do. Not all women like being approached by random
men in the streets like that. I know I HATE IT. A lot.
Some guys are really cool but even the cool ones get shot down sometimes. Hello? That shit is annoying to some women. |

I just don't want them to say anything mean about me! I'm a sensitive flower or some shit. I can handle myself on the internet but I don't need
broadcast television putting words out there that I can't defend!

Yeah. This grocery store near us told us they were shooting a commercial. The waiver only had information of the production company for the show (the
production company who we were told was shooting the commercial), not the words VH1 or anything like that!
I'm annoyed but I should have known better... I've had to have people sign those before and you basically give them carte blanche to do whatever they want with the footage but that's standard for these kind of agreements. |

Can you get them in trouble for that? I'm sure they worded it in a way that they can't get in trouble, but eh... they purposely misled you which in a
way makes the contract null and void. At least in scientific research it works that way.

But wouldn't it somewhat defeat the purpose of the show if you were aware that VH1 was there filming? I mean, obviously you wouldn't know exactly what
was going on, but I think that show depends on people not knowing what's going on behind the curtains so that they get their true honest response.

It's crazy that they can lie to people and do that. Did you have to sign the waiver as soon as you walked into the store?

Not to degrade you in any way but I'm curious how someone asking for your number would fit into a commercial for a grocery store. How did they ask you or
film it so you didn't get suspicious.
That totally sucks though. I'd be pissed off too. |

JenN I don't remember which guy it was exactly but I remember he was a white guy and short, like maybe 5' 5" or something. He said his name was
Ryan.

That was sneaky of them, but the few times that I watched that show, the guys were degraded more than the people they were hitting on. I would be pissed though
too and confused about the situation.
