While I appreciate the thought, I'm not gonna ask anything of this board like that, especially after Lauragirl. Besides, I still have a roof over my head, a car to drive and food in the cabinets for the time being. If anyone was going to be helped, there are probably way more people out there who are worse off than me. My situation is pretty bad but there's still room for it to get worse. I haven't hit rock bottom yet.
You can decline if you want, but you are not asking, it's been offered.
I don't walk into hospitals or poor towns to see who needs help, but I do try to help whenever I run into someone who could use it, if I can.
There are probably worse people off then you and there are probably people better off then you, but as you know I like being able to donate to who I want with my own hard earned money. I want the right to choose where my money goes.

You just opened a can of worms with that question. VERY long story short: She got on JJB from "the library" claiming she was being molested at home and since no one believed her, she got kicked out. She hd benn homeless on the street for a few days, it was late at night and she had nowhere to go. People here felt bad, asked where she was and one JJBer got her a hotel room for the night. Another one ordered her a pizza and someone else bought her a bus ticket, because one JJBer offered to let her stay with her for a few days if she could get to where she lived. She went from the bus, another JJBer picked her up and took her to other JJBers house. JJB set up a paypal account for her and people donated over 1,000 bucks to help her get an apt, and sent her gift cards. It all ended up being some huge scam with the JJBer who was "housing" her wanting a percentage of the money and Lauragirl using the money and gift cards to buy frivolous stuff like digital cameras etc. It was just a huge ass mess and that doesn't even begin to describe it all.
That is awful. It are people like this that make me ashamed at times to be part of the human race.
How did everyone find out it was scam?
Long story again, but the JJBer houusing her went to a spinoff board and told everyone that Laura was scamming her and that Laura went to her dad and told him that she had stolen 300 bucks from lauras purse. The dad believed laura and made Michelle(other JJBer) pay Laura or something. I honestly, don't know because once other JJBers started getting involved, it started happening over the phone. Turns out, Michelle never really wanted Laura to come because Michelles lived with her parents. Michelle just offered it up to look nice, and then left. When she signed back on, JJBers had bought Laura a bus ticket and arranged rides, so Michelle felt stuck and had to let her come. It was weird, but it was just a bunch of dishonesty from both sides.
