I have a wet bag that the diapers go in when we're out - it holds like 3 of them or so. You can do a cold rinse cycle first if you want to. Some people put their dirty diapers in wet pails, but I just use a trash can with a lid and a plastic liner - we haven't had any stains yet (breast fed poop is pretty water soluble anyway)

Just let him know you'll pay more with a diaper service (but it's still going to be cheaper in the long run than disposables) but if that's the only way he'll agree with it, it's still better than nothing!
