The rumor started since he broke out in the US in 00-01, before that, he was with Rebecca De Alba for 14 years and no one questioned his sexuality. When he was in Menudo there were no rumors of him being gay either.

Sorry but no, not in the Menudo era, the Spanish channels have jumped in the rumors, which I'm not saying are not true btw, in the later years. In the 90s, it was a known fact that he was living with Rebecca De Alba. And as far as I know when he was in Menudo he slept with girls, I know a few that slept with him, plus I knew which Menudo's were gay at the time and he def wasn't one of them, again when he was in Menudo, I don't know about now.

And get your fact straight Jose Menendez was a record executive, he wasn't Ricky's manager. Edgardo Diaz was Menudo's and Ricky's manager and he was the one accused by a bitter parent of molesting some Menudo boys, but not his own, but no one ever went to the court with their allegations which then were proved to be fabricated. Edgardo Diaz and Ricky Martin are still be good friends, so I doubt he molested him. Ricky's current road and personnal manager is Joselo Vega, who was Menudo's road manager and choreographer for 15 years and he is openly gay.

Edgardo Diaz has been my parents' next door neighbor for 25+ years in Puerto Rico, and I personally knew and still am friends with most of the 33 Menudo members, so when it comes to Menudo, I'm pretty sure I'm a subject matter expert.
