I definitely agree that, especially for Britney, it's more about the music than the vocals. Most of her songs are really really catchy and just fun to
listen to/sing along with. I'll be the first to admit that I still throw on her cds once in a while and turn the volume up
 It's just fun and
definitely brings back memories.
She's a good entertainer too. It's weird because like NSync had great vocals and were great dancers (well..for the most part lol) and I loved seeing them live, but I also loved going to see Britney live just as much even though she wasn't as talented a dancer and not really talented at all as a singer. In her case I would so much rather hear lipsynching than her real voice (if it really is exactly like it sounds in this video) She just put on a great
show, I guess. It was always a really fun couple of hours.

The record label also had a strong desire to change the style of her vocals too. She had to sing sexier, breathier, instead of the more soulful deeper voice
she had on the first album and prior. Her first album performances were so much stronger and she was more confident to sing live...until she got to Oops!...
and then it just got worse and worse with each album.

Good LORD. But in her "defense" I don't even think she's singing. She's obviously lip-syncing so she's probably just speaking her
song cause she's lipping and it's a habit of hers (often when lipping you can't help but slip a few real words out).
I think she's a horrible singer but... ya. |

Wow, i knew she couldn't sing before but that is horrible. The wonder of back up singers... It even sounds like she gets some of the words wrong.

She's not singing to sing right, she lipsincs her performances so she's just using her voice to lipsync correctly.

I'm going to have to echo Dani - threads like this get posted repeatedly and it's always the same people running into them acting surprised.
Me personally, I'm really not interested in how somebody sounds when they're not even attempting to sing. I've heard the chick sing live and it was good enough for me, so whatever. |

Those Britney/Kevin videos are crazy.
Ok as I watch more its sad.  I can't believe Justin dated her for 5 years.
I don't think anyone in 2008 should be shocked that Britney can't sing. I still like her music. If I want to hear good singing, I'll listen to Mariah or Christina. |
