I bought a HP Entertainmet laptop about 6 months ago and I was just wondering generally how long do they last? What I'm mostly using it for is MS Office
and the internet.
How long does a laptop generally last??

My first laptop ( a Dell ) lasted five years and the hard drive and everything remained decently intact. However, it physically fell apart. The screen
wouldn't stay up and was only holding on by a single cord. I had it duct taped together precariously.
I think the average is 4-5 years. Probably longer if you take better care of it than I took of mine! |

My Dell lasted 5 years before it just wasn't enough to do what I needed it to do anymore. There was nothing physically wrong with it though. My husband
wiped the hard drive and we sold it one of the guys he works with.

My Dell lasted for 6 years. It didn't die, but I wanted a new one.

My iBook is still chugging away after 7 years. I don't use it very often, but when my MacBook Pro was drying out from a bottle of water (ugh) a couple of
months ago, I turned it on, updated the browser, and wrote a paper on it without any problems.
