I had severe OCD growing up. It's quite prevalent in my family. I was abused as a child, and suffered pretty bad anxiety, as well. I was diagnosed
clinically in 2005. I was treated for anxiety/depression/etc. with therapy. I did 8 months of weekly therapy and I've been fine since. Before that I tried
Zoloft, Effexor, Buspar, Ativan, etc. None of that ever did it. I just needed to work some things out. I still work at it.

I'm having alot of issues with numbers lately...I hate odd numbers, so I don't do anything in odd numbers, especially 3. I'm terrified of the
number 3. I count the number of times I file one of my nails, the pumps from the shampoo bottle, etc. I think I need to up my dosage, lol.

Kwis, since you're in this thread, question! Do you think it had any negative effects on me to have had constant OCD for many years and dealing with it
without taking any meds? Or could it be a good thing that I kind of trained myself to not be so bad about it?

OCD stinks. I did therapy before medicine, but after about a year and a couple of months, I was still feeling awful so then I decided to try a psychiatrist
who specialized in OCD, and that's where I'm at now. :/ If this doesn't start working, though, sometime soon, I'm probably going to go back
into therapy. My psychiatrist seems to think talk therapy doesn't help OCD, but I don't really believe him. I think everyone's OCD is different in
what can help. :/ IDK, IDK. I'm just glad to hear other people's experiences with it.
P.S. I apologize ahead of time for the bad quality pictures. I'm retaking some of them now. I'm sorry about the numbers. I've never really had the problem with numbers in particular, but I can only imagine how frustrating that is. It has
got to be tiring.

I'm actually surprised I don't have an ulcer from all the worrying I've done over the years. Sometimes I wonder if an ulcer is inside me and I
don't know it.

One time I felt reallly strange. I went to pee and noticed that I was having brown spots in my pad.

Or could it be a good thing that I kind of trained myself to not be so bad about it?Sorry, I was busy taking those pictures! I didn't see your post! But no, I think it's better that you've kind of trained yourself. I mean, the fact that you can recognize what it is in the first place is a pretty positive thing by itself, you know? I'm not sure if that made sense.
I just retook the pictures. Now I have to resize them. Hopefully they turn out better! |

Oh, it did for awhile. For a very long time, actually. I think I hit rock bottom so I had nowhere to go but up. I'm not sure how I made myself improve.

I also have really twisted thoughts. Like, I'm terrified that a person who is looking at our house(my parents just put it on the market last month) will
cook my rabbits. How fucked up is that? I'm so paranoid.

Okay, here are the checklist pages. I mean, there are a lot more pages of checklists that get into more specifics, but this is a general idea. Also,
there's tons more stuff that's in that book (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder by Fred Penzel) that's really helpful and all kinds of types of OCD and
stuff. It's something good to have, or even check it out if it's at the library or whatnot!
I put them under a spoiler, and I'm sorry if they're big, but I wanted to make sure you could read them! And if you can't read them, I'll translate some of the text for you, just let me know! I'll probably take them down, later, though, so I don't get sued. Oh, and sorry about my
fingernails in some. My nail-polish is chipped really badly. Oh,
and, the first page is all marked off, because it had eraser marks on it, and then I stopped doing the check list physically, because I was afraid someone
would find it and think I was seriously messed up. I think that's all of them! I will probably check ten times to make sure I put all of them up even if it appears I have.

Wow, I read all of them. Thanks! I'm saving those for future reference. Hope you don't mind!
I'm sure that I have done/do 75% of those. That is not good.

my sister has mild ocd, and no medication has ever helped it. she has severe depression, which has been helped, but it didn't help the ocd.

I had to go to a neurologist when I was 14 who diagnosed me. I had to fill out a questionaire similar to that, and then my psychiatrist took over. I also got
dianosed with ADD, depression and an eating disorder. Great day.
