I am strictly commission + tips. I make 25% commission which averages out to about $27 an hour. Tips are usually around 15%. It really varies on the customer
and service I provide. So I would say anywhere from $40-$50 an hour. However, I only work about 20 service hours a week.

I get paid $8 an hour to watch upwards of 20 kids all by myself. In a year, I'll be making probably $8.25. My friends who work in retail make more than
that, and aren't responsible for 20 young lives. Make sense, right?

I make $10.97 with differential since I work second shift. If we get our job re-classified, my salary will go up to almost 12 an hour with differential. Not
bad for working in a medium sized hospital without a degree. When I get my degree, I'll be starting at almost $17 an hour.

I make 9, but it'll go up to 10 in a couple months. I was being paid 9.25 when I worked at school; my university has a pretty good pay scale for work-
study. I need to make 12ish though to meet my bills.
Neither of my parents would get out of bed for less than 20/hour. My mom made 25 when she started at her clinic two or three years ago, and my dad used to pay more in taxes than she made (he doesn't anymore). They have experience and degrees. They're not going to settle for working at McDonald's wages... |

My base pay is $25.50, and I work night shift so it's an extra $4.17 per hour. So that equals $29.67, and weekend nights I get an extra $4.17 on top of
that, so $33.84. I'm an RN in the Baltimore area.

reasonable jobs available to make less than $20/hr again. That's part of the reason I switched majors because I'd now have to take a pay cut to work in
my degree field in the entry level positions in Computer Science. I worked my ass off for 5 years to get to this wage. I work overtime as necessary (I'm
management and therefore exempt from overtime) but it's something I rarely need to do.

Wow I can't believe some of you "I'll only work for 20+" seriously someone needs to take the silver spoon in your mouth and shove it donw your throat. I went to school to make the money that I make and I feel fortunate to make it. |

I make enough for being out of college 2 years but I wish I made more (who doesn't). Nurses are so underpaid for what we do.

I'm salaried but last time this post was made a while back i think i calculated it to be a little over $32 an hour.
And it is not ridiculous to expect a certain salary - someone who has put the time and effort into bettering their education and has the experience, SHOULD expect to be compensated for it and not settle for the same job as someone who just has a high school diploma or something |

The last 'real job' I had was over 10 years ago and paid $25/hr.
Now, the only real hourly 'wage' I get is through lecturing. I'm a financial lecturer and although I do a lot of stuff for free and for Universities, I charge $1000/hr for industry lectures. Mainly for brokers and fund traders. My real income comes from my trading though. I'm a trader and make a 7 figure income every year and work anywhere from 0 - 4 hours a day. If I go on the last financial year which ended June 30th (I'm in Australia) and assume I worked the full 20 hours a week, then I made $4,519 per hour this last year. I did work my ass off and made a lot of sacrifices in my 20's (I'm 34 now) to get to where I am now though. I started from nothing and took some huge leaps of faith. |
