My brother used it and it initially really cleared him up, though he had incredibly dry skin and still to this day years later still has dry patches on his
face that were the result of the accutane. He's now experiencing really bad cyst acne again on his back, the doctor wants to put him back on it and he said
he'll never do it again.
His experience was what turned me off of it, I went on BC instead. |

She has done the tetracycline and the doxycline. Doc put her back on tetra/doxcy till her July 21 appointment. I am gonna go and ask about trying BC pills
first before she trys accutane. My daughter said if anyone in our family was treated for depression, then she can't use accutane. So I am guessing her
Dermo won't put her on it due to her dad's treatment.
She was real good about going to the dermo and doing everything faithfully in high school, but once she started college, it has been hit or miss. She will run out of pills, or run out of face prescription and wash, and because she doesn't get home to see the dermo, she will use like proactive or over the counter stuff, which never worked for her. She always has friday's off of school, never has class, but her dermo is closed on Friday. grrrr...So, she will continue with traditional treatment till we get back to the dermo on July 21. She leaves for Israel on July 7 till the 18th so she didn't want to start anything different for that reason as well. Thanks everyone for your advice. The big issue really in her case is the depression treatment her dad had due to dealing with his diabetes which caused kidney disease, retinopathy, high blood pressure, cateracts, high cholesterol, etc. He was prozac then paxil, to help him cope. |
