At 12 most kids I know are supervised closely or only allowed on certain acceptable sites. The computer is usually in the common area as well. I do not think it is shockingly unreasonable to supervise a small child on the internet. (And no, supervising is not occasionally looking over the shoulder)

And he sure as fuck couldn't come here. Plus, anyone could be exposed to anything. But giving the go-ahead is a whole different story. Fuck it, let her read to her pre-pubescent heart's content. Not to mention the fact that back in the day, this was an Nsync board. Ah well.

Well, you know what was I doing when I was 12??? Talking to grown men in chatrooms on the internet, but hey since I did it and came away without any harm done. I guess it's okay!

You realize that banning her username from posting will do absolutely nothing to deter her from reading, right? There are probably lots of young kids here. More than we think. Yeah, I don't think its appropriate but reporting her isn't going to do anything but likely make her want to read more stuff on here. Its never going to act as a parental control to stop the usage.

You are right, some kids at 12 are. But some A LOT are not. And some 12 year olds are crazy these days. Honestly, my mother didn't supervise me on the computer when I was 12. But I wasn't a crazy kid who went looking for porn or anything. I think I first stumbled upon this board around 13/14. But I mean I watched a lot of shit I probably shouldn't have when I was younger too. I am fine. Nothing damaged me. And I am still not a crazy wild child. I am quite the opposite.
