i always get nervous and idiotic sounding talking on the phone, especially talking business or whatever. i left a message on this company's machine
yesterday and i called again today and when he said hello i was like "UM........hi...i called yesterday and left a message...about a discussion, you
know...um....ok wait...i go to -- college..." and then luckily they do enough business with my college that they knew what i was calling about but it was
so awkward and i felt like such an idiot. i wish i could sound like the educated woman that i am
ugh, I was so embarrassed on a phone call today

Awww lol don't worry. Sometimes, I write down what I want to say so I won't sound like a complete fool.

I often briefly type out what I want to say in notepad, usually the introduction and everything after that just flows. It's lame, but hey it keeps me from
sounding like an absolute dumbass

hahah I do that sometimes too. But when I call the voicemail I sound like a little girl. Like a 10 year old. Whenever a tellemarketer calls they are like
"Is your mommy or daddy home?"
I am like, "Can I take a
message? My mom and dad are busy right now!" They talk to me like a little child. I even called to order tickets once on ticketmaster (yeah I called in)
and they said, are you 18 or older? I was like "ugh YEAHH! IM 20!!"

Wow. Maybe you need a public speaking course. I know you are not givign speeches on the phone, but it will help you get over that fear.
