Well I don't 'remember' but I've seen video. It was way before my time, back in the 70's. I don't think it was in the Olympics but the
bars fell apart when she finished her routine and she avoided disaster by like 1/2 a second.

Look how shoddy they used to be!
They wiggled way too much back in the day.
But with the bars? Nadia was such a gangster. I miss gymnasts like her. Today's gymnasts are too technical. They're all more focused on hammering out skills than looking good doing them. They just bump and clunk all over. She used to make everything look so easy.

Yeah, the bars were closer back then. I don't remember when they made the bars farther apart, I think it was in the 80s?
