For example:
I told you you was going to do a good job.
I don't know if I can look past this. I know that's bad, but it really gets to me.
Edited for bad grammar, imagine that!

Would this be a deal breaker? |

So, I'm dating this guy and everything is pretty good. He's cute, and nice, and everything is comfortable when I'm with him, and we get along well.
However, he can't spell and when he talks he uses Was instead of Were.
For example: I told you you was going to do a good job.
I don't know if I can look past this. I know that's bad, but it really gets to me. Edited for bad grammar, imagine that!

Is it a deal breaker for you? I would have picked up on that before we started dating I think.

It would depend on whether he had a learning disability or not.

Well we're not together. I just started hanging out with him a lot, and going on dates and such.

Well you said "get along good" so are you that much better?
Personally, I'm such a snob with grammar so I wouldn't be able to stand it. |

The spelling wouldn't really bother me, but the speech would get to me.

So you aren't even together? Just walk away from it if it bothers you that much.

The way he talks would drive me absolutely insane! I can deal with the spelling, my ex was the worst speller I have ever known and it was actually kind of cute
to see what he would come up with

no. THats really dumb if you like somebody but you don't want to date them because they have bad grammar. If they are truly udderly stupid, then I
don't see the problem

how sad, I wouldn't care as long as he was sweet to me and we enjoyed eachothers company.

Yes. That would drive me nuts, and even if I couldn't tell immediately in what other ways he was stupid, I would know those ways were out there and I
wouldn't want to stick around long enough to find out what they are.

I'm just joking with you, it's bound to happen. If you're criticizing someone's grammar, you're inevitably going to mess up.
But yeah, it would still drive me crazy. |

That's definitely a deal breaker for me. Poor grammar is something I can't handle. It would drive me insane.

Yeah, my boyfriend is horrible at spelling, but he speaks properly. I think that would definitely be a deal breaker for me.

I am going to try to overlook it because I do enjoy hanging out with him.. even though it's going to drive me nuts! Maybe if we get more serious I can
mention it to him, and we can fix it.
