my dad passed away 15 years ago (almost to the day) and i still get a little mopey around fathers day, his birthday and the day he died. i talked to mom the
other day and we spoke about how things would be different had he still been here. it makes me very sad that he never got to see me grow up and he has never
gotten to see my son. I know he would have loved that boy.

I know how you feel as well. I lost my dad 2 years ago and I miss him dearly around this time. I know he would LOVE my son to death. I sometimes think he's my dad reincarnated. He sometimes looks just like him and has the same sence of humour as my dad.

people dont understand why i still cry. fathers are a huge part of your life and i havent had that for the last 15 years. its just strange to think what it
would be like had he still been here. would i have the same job? would i live here? would he still be married to mom? would it make us closer as a family? i
refuse to have a big wedding because there will be no one to walk me down the aisle. im just missing a chunk of life by him now being here.

We all need a group hug, girls.
I also more and more feel like a part of something big in my life is missing since my dad's not here anymore. I was thinking about it a lot this morning. A father is a huge part of your life, and he's gone now. |

Oh I so know how you feel. Mu dad passed away two years ago May 29th, and I miss him so much. I still cry many times when I think about him, even remember
the happy and silly times.
My daughter's dad, (my husband), passed away nine and a half years ago, when she just turned 11. She will be 21 in September and it hurts me to know he didn't get to see how wonderful she turned out, cuz he would be so proud. Having lost both of these wonderful men in my life, I understand what you are going though, and it is hardest around important dates such as Father's Day, anniversaries, birthdays, and holidays. I try to remember the happy times, the silly times, and I know I am blessed for having them in my life, even if it wasn't for a long enough time. Just remember, it's ok to cry, but it is more important to happily celebrate their life with good memories. |

I've been thinking about this a lot lately. |

I cried writing in this post.
It is so hard to lose a parent I think, because they were your rock, and it also brings the thought of mmortality, home. I think we all really do deserve a group hug. |

It doesn't matter how old you are... Dad's your own personal superman... even if his best special power is opening the pickle jar!!

tttodayjunior wrote:I totally understand. It'll be 10 years this upcoming October since mine died. I cry sometimes so quickly just thinking about him or seeing something that reminds me of him. A friend (I use that term verrrrrry loosely) told me to stop acting like a baby and crying when I did one time. Yeah, that didn't go over to well with me. |
