Commercial real estate is always pretty steady. When times are bad, companies move into small spaces. When times are good, they expand.

Residentail real estate will turn around, so why shouldn't people prepare themselves now?

Those two weeks of the year are always the busiest (I work in the packaging industry). People tend to wait until the end of the school year to move.

I'm not a realtor but I'm going for my license soon. I don't know if I'm going to like it but the agency pays for the class if you work for them for a certain amount of time so it's worth a shot and it might be great for some extra cash. The market might suck now but it'll be nice to have the license when it turns around. I also live in an area where real estate is ridiculously overpriced so I'm sure the pay would be decent if it's commission based.

I am a real estate agent in Florida. I work with mainly REO properties which is a booming market (unfortunately or fortunately, however you want to look at it.)

Because it's possible to still make good money depending on where you live and how the market is there. Plus I took the class 2 years ago before the housing bubble burst. My certificate was only good for 2 years so I needed to take it before June 25th. I have a job so I have no intention of actually pursuing it anytime soon. It's nice...

That would be a crap job I would think here in Indiana. We have houses everywhere that are for sale and no one is buying.

I have my license, but I don't really do anything with it. Long story...but basically my line of work is kind of real estate management related so there is always the chance I could help someone buy or sell something.
